Buyer is very upset about the time an item is taking to arrive to them
I've been selling & buying on Ebay for over 20 years (with 100% positive feedback), I always remain polite & informative when a buyer is upset, but I cannot control the amount of time it takes an item to arrive to Florida from Michigan (via UPS). The item in question is a wallet.
I'm a prompt shipper, same day or next day & I update tracking promptly. I always double check my labels to make sure they are printed correctly, but for some reason, I didn't catch that UPS moved the "apartment number" to the address line & then refused to deliver until I corrected it online to put the apartment. number in the correct box.
Of course this happens on a Thursday, so the buyer is extremely upset they won't receive their package till Monday or possibly even later, UPS is taking their time straightening this out. Buyer keeps sending me messages about how I need to "fix this" & that "this is ridiculous'" & about how upset they are. There isn't anything I can do, but receiving these messages is starting to upset me. I would love to say that this being their worst problem is a lot better than being homeless or diagnosed with cancer.
Even if I refund them & block them to stop receiving these messages from them, they can still leave me negative feedback, which would feel very unfair, for them to have their money, eventually have their item, & then be slanderous to me, when I've been very attentive & as helpful as possible to them.
Any advice appreciated, thanks so much for reading.
