Buyer is Requesting a Refund
I recently had a buyer purchase a linocut that he thought was an original from the 1930s. It was actually a restrike from the '70s by Robert Blackburn. However, when I priced the art at the restrike price of $300, he bought it. Now, he is requesting a refund saying that my description didn't match. I sent him a verbatim copy of the description used by the auction house who sold it to me. It's the same description that I used on Ebay. I knew it wasn't a vintage print because of the price. If it was vintage, it would have been priced at around $5,000. He thought he was getting a steal when he bought it at $300.
Unfortunately, I didn't put "No Returns Accepted" in my terms. So Ebay took his word over mine and froze my account for the $300 the item sold for.
Did I do anything wrong?
