Buyer is asking for "ebay email" for confirmation before buying. Kosher?

The buyer in my sale has not made a payment yet on the item. They insist on making sure that the account they are paying into has my "ebay email" for them to confirm. Is this my personal email they are asking for? And is that legit?

No, it is not legit. Buyers don't need your email to make payment. But scammers want your email so they can send a fake payment notice.
