Can someone tell me what to tell the buyer? Wants to retract the bid and make an offer instead.

·3 years agoCancel the bid yourself. Go to the Site Map (link at the bottom of this and most ebay.com pages) Sell Section (use the shortcut at the top--it's a long scroll down) and you'll find the link to that and several other useful seller tools.
Cancelling the bid might or might not bring the Best Offer option back (if it was there to begin with--I see several auctions of your with no bids and no Best Offer). There's a Help page that says it will if it eliminates all bids (a cancellation by the seller removes all bids by that bidder) but my recollection of the rules and practices in the past is that it at least didn't used to.
ETA: That is not a valid reason for the bidder to retract the bid, and a seller cannot give permission to a bidder to retract (either s/he has one of the two valid reasons or not, and either s/he is within the deadline for doing so with a valid reason or not; the only way the seller could change that is to give him/her one of the valid reason by adding to the description something that significantly changes it; the seller however can cancel any bid up until the auction ends and may do so for about just any reason including that the bidder asked with or without a good reason ).
