Buyer has received a refund and hasn't returned item.
I sold two 10 oz. silver bars for $500.00 to a buyer and he asked for a refund due to the items being damaged on arrival.
I purchased a return label so he can return the items. Somehow the buyer received a full refund (July 11,2023) before he shipped the items back to me. After he received the refund he msg me and wants to cancel the refund and keep the bars!
An Ebay rep advised me to send him my PayPal email address so he can repay me for the items.
The buyer says he will repay me when the refund has posted to his bank or credit card account, but as of today ( July 21, 2023) I have not been payed or received the bars back.
Am I totally Scr*w*d or what?

-Did the Buyer file a return and did you accept the return and tried sending the return shipping label through the eBay return claim? Something does not sound right here ...
-It sounds like you are out the money and out the silver ... but how could the bars get damaged in shipment???? That's a real mystery if you packed them securely in a box right?!?
-Did the Buyer supply pictures of the damage? I assume you insured the shipment and can file an insurance claim for damaged goods right?!?

·3 years agoIf they used a credit card, it could take a month or so before the refund shows up in their account.
