Buyer has not responded
I sold an item in an auction, 100% of the proceeds are going to a charity. I sent an email to the high bidder and an invoice, but received no response or payment after 6 days. What do use as a reason to cancel the order and how then do I make a second-chance offer to the next highest bidder?

After 4 days have fully passed since you sent the invoice, you can cancel the transaction due to "buyer never paid".

Mentor3 years agoHi @jonburcaw
Sorry this happened. The best way to handle a cancellation is waiting until Day 5 and choosing 'Buyer hasn't paid' as the reason. This will put a strike on the buyer's account ... and prevent you from receiving negative feedback.
By sending an invoice ... you reset the 'sold date' to the date of the invoice ... so you'll have to wait 5 days after you sent the invoice before you'll see 'Buyer hasn't paid' as a reason for cancellation.
Not all buyers have opted into receiving Second Chance Offers ... so you can only send them to the names eBay shows you.

OP3 years agoThank you very much for your reply. You mentioned the “buyer hasn’t paid†option would only appear five days after invoice. Is that also the same trigger for the appearance of the second chance offering option and the buyers who opted for that as well? Again, many thanks!
