Buyer has not rec'd item and I checked with USPS, they said the item was destroyed & file a claim
I sent shipment on 1/2/2026. Buyer informed eBay that the item was not received. I check with USPS and they tell me to call their 800 number. I call the 800 number and they tell me the item was destroyed and to file a claim since I paid for insurance. When I go to file a claim through eBay, you have to choices, either "Lost" or "Damaged". If I select lost, they tell me to wait till 2/1/2026. If I select "Damaged", I can file the claim now. What do I do? I choose damaged and file they claim, I'm afraid they will ask for proof which I don't have any, just the USPS rep telling me that it was destroyed. If I choose lost, I don't want to wait until 2/1/2026 to file the claim!
