Buyer has paid eBay and I have been paid by eBay for the transaction as well. Buyer was suposed to set up a pick-up service and I was going to meet them to deliver product to delivery service all set up via ebay messages . Then I did not her back for a week or two and Buyer stated they where away for a week and asked for the pickup info which I provided and still not heard back. My question is how long does the Buyer have to pick up item before default. And what happens if they do not pick it up in time?
There is no default pickup period. If you are tired of waiting, you can tell the buyer nicely that if not picked up by xx date, you will cancel his purchase and refund his payment. There is no amount of time (well, possible 6 months) where you get to keep the item and the money - the buyer can file a claim with his credit card.
You can refund for as long as 90 days, so don't let it go past that. You can cancel for 30 days - after 30 days you just refund. It doesn't change your statistics if you just refund - the cancellation only archives the sales record for you,
