Buyer has been refunded the full amount and kept my item
Im absolutely disgusted to say the least. I’ve been on Ebay since 2013 and never been treated like this before.
On the 7th June I made a sale of a designer jacket on ebay to a seller, the payment went through and all was fine like it usually is.
Then about over 3 weeks later out of the blue i get an email telling me that the buyer has opened a dispute. The reason being he saying my item is counterfeit and that i’ve ignored him in trying to sort it out
both are which absolutely lies and i have proof that he didn’t contact me once.
I then appealed the dispute with receipts of the item and screenshots that no attempt to make contact was made, if he did contact me i probably would have just accepted a return on my own accord.
I then asked the seller why he lied and if my item is still in original condition and he told me now he’s ripped the tags off because he wanted to try it out to go to the shops which i have screenshot proof of. That is completely against ebay policy as all returns have to be in original condition for full refund.
Then about 4 days ago i got an email saying his payment institution have awarded the case in his favour which means he’s been refunded the whole amount disregarding all the proof i provided. And now the worst thing i have en email from ebay saying the entire amount £450 is going to be deducted from my bank account and the seller isn’t sending my item back. Ive contacted ebay multiple times through different people and i have the transcripts as proof, they’ve told me because the payment has gone through his institution and not them they have no power so the buyer is basically entitled the full amount and to keep my item. How is this even legal? Ebay are telling me there’s nothing they can do because the appeal is closed, and are saying they have no power to make the buyer return my item. Contacted my bank and they don’t want to know either. I’ve lost an absolute tonne of money including my item, it’s basically fraud and nobody is interested in helping me.
