Buyer gives feedback that is totally unreasonable and not at all related to the facts of the matter.
We received an order for remanufactured marine engine on March 30, 2026, and shipped it on April 9, 2026, well ahead of the 30-day handling period shown in our listing, yet eBay allowed the buyer to file a complaint that they hadn't received their order. In addition, after shipping the product we supplied the buyer with a tracking number, the same one shown on their order. The buyer called the carrier, and the carrier told them they had no record of the shipment. When the buyer told us that we told him that the carrier is mistaken. He then proceeded to accuse us of calling him a liar. We never did such a thing. If anything, it was the carrier who was mistaken. Somehow this got all twisted in the mind of the buyer and he ended up giving us a negative review which we honestly feel is totally unwarranted and unjustified. We've tried communicating with the buyer, even apologizing for any misunderstanding, but the buyer insists on keeping the negative feedback feeling that it accurately reflects his experience. We are completely perplexed. eBay's response is that the buyer has the right to say whatever they what, accurate or otherwise. After having sold on ebay for years, this is first time ever we've received a negative feedback. We've been able to work through other problems with other buyers, but this one insists that they are right and will not change their mind. They do admit that they received a superior product that works well but this doesn't seem to have satisfied them.
