Buyer from UK is refusing to pay import tax and VAT
Hi
I'm a seller in Japan, recently a buyer from the UK has purchase an item. Timely shipped, the buyer is now refusing delivery and dose not want to pay custom fees and VAT (800US$ item).
DHL will be returning my item to Japan with a high shipping return fee and handling.
How should I proceed ?

Mentor2 years ago@japanese-vintage. Per eBay policy refusing a package voids the eBay Money Back Guarantee, at least if the item was listed directly on eBay.com.
If listed directly on another countries site then that countries policy applies.
Going by eBay.com rules you do not have to refund for a refused package. I would refund item price only MINUS shipping costs both ways.
The eBay policy doesn't stop the buyer from trying a credit card charge back though. If that happens then you need to respond to the dispute correctly to qualify for seller protection so reply to this post for more help.
