Buyer etiquette
I have someone who supposedly bought an item of mine and has been emailing me, asking for my cell number to communicate,
asking for more pics, etc.
I wrote that I prefer to email here only. NO reason to need my cell or any other information of mine. Is this something that I should report/not an authentic buyer?

Mentor3 years agoWhen you eventually list this item, use Priority or Priority Express to ship, not first class parcel. Since the item is more than $750, make sure you add Signature Required, when you ship, to be covered under seller protection. I would also suggest additional shipping insurance.

I hate to have to tell you ... but you're dealing with a scammer who is out to steal your necklace. New sellers listing expensive items are magnets for scammers, as legitimate buyers are hesitant to buy from newbies.
Cancel the transaction on Saturday ... choosing 'Buyer hasn't paid' as the reason. [You won't be able to choose that reason until Day 5 following 'sale'.]
You'd do better selling a few inexpensive items ... and purchasing a few, cheap stuff ... before listing the necklace again ... assuming you want to risk shipping that item to someone who can do a chargeback and reclaim their money.
Most experienced eBay sellers would NOT sell that online.

OP3 years agoThank you so much!!! This is absolutely what I suspected, as I do a lot of selling on other sites, and one of the reasons why I stopped selling on eBay. I really appreciate us and we’ll proceed that way on day five. Thank you so much for your time and have a great day!
