Buyer erred
Buyer filed an "item not as described" claim and sent photo. Item looked like the jacket I had shipped him, so I immediately refunded and apologized for my oversight. Buyer then messaged me saying he had erred because he had opened the claim on the wrong item/seller (me). He apologized and asked if there was something that could be done to correct the mistake. What can be done? I will be getting an eBay ding for this which would not be fair considering the circumstances.

Mentor1 week ago@red_buffalo_exchange In the future it is best to refund after you receive the item back unless you think a refund without paying return shipping is better for your bottom line.
Since you refunded willingly and eBay didn't force a return it really won't count against you very much. This goes on your service metrics rating. You can see how you compare to other sellers here> https://www.ebay.com/sh/performance/service-metrics
Unfortunately there is not a way to undo it though.
You can send the buyer a PayPal invoice so they can pay you for the jacket again. Or they can send you $ using another electronic payment method. The refund can't be reversed on eBay.
