Buyer Doesn't Pay, Checked Account and is Listed as "Not a Registered User"

Question

So when was eBay planning on notifying me that "not a registered user" had bid on and won and not paid on an item I listed? This buyer purchased and put in that "buyer still wants to shop option" so they didn't need to pay right away. Payment was due 1/15 but today was 1/14 and I was curious about this buyer so I looked at the feedback - lots of people complaining the person buys, wins and then doesn't pay. So I just cancelled the order but I'm curious why eBay didn't notify me.

It is hard to say why eBay did not notify you, maybe their account was closed shortly before you checked for payment and cancelled the transaction.

At least that account was shut down.

The reason Buyers are given 7 days to pay is because you have Auto-pay turned ON for Auctions and probably the Offer process on this page near the bottom PLUS you offer Combined shipping. Buyer management | eBay

With that combination of settings if a Buyer wins one auction they are given 7 days to pay or shop.

I recommend turning Auto-pay OFF, then you can cancel after 4 days on an Unpaid item. That can be automated or set to manual (which I sue because sometimes my customers need or want a little more time to pay and I work with them.)
