Buyer claims vintage purse could not be authenticated
I sold a vintage Christian Dior purse on eBay (March 9, 2023) that was in my late mother-in-law's estate. The buyer (who I now know is a reseller) said she sent it to The RealReal and they told her it could not be authenticated.
What options are available through eBay to authenticate the purse. I would NEVER knowingly sell something I knew to be a fake. I am new to this and didn't realize I needed to first have the purse authenticated before selling.
Please advise.

Mentor3 years agoIt doesn’t sound like they said it is a fake, just that they could not verify the authenticity. This could just be due to the age of the item.
I would ask the buyer to return it for a refund. I would send her a polite note, explaining that to your knowledge it is authentic, but you want her to be 100% happy, so please return it for a full refund at your expense. She will need to use not as described for the reason for return, since it was sold with no returns.
