Buyer Claims Received Wrong Item
I am an honest seller with 100% rating. I’ve been a seller since 2009. This is the first time I’ve encountered an issue. I don’t accept returns- never had to. I sold a pair of brand new unworn jeans to a buyer. She asked me to negotiate on the price which I did. She paid & I shipped USPS Ground Advantage. I made sure the package was wrapped securely. After about 3days, the tracking report stated it was delivered. The buyer immediately issued a return request stating the package was opened and sends a photo of a pair of distressed (symmetrically torn) shorts claiming that was what she received. I responded that I sent her the correct item she ordered from me and that I’ve never possessed anything that looked even remotely like the item in the photo she sent. I asked her to please send me a photo of the package with its label & tracking number. I’ve yet to hear a response. Not sure if I’m being scammed but if she does send a photo and the label checks out, what do I do? Why would anyone open a package and replace the contents like that? It doesn’t make sense. I don’t want to be on the hook for a theft. Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance.
