Buyer claims defect, but none existed when shipped
I photographed the item and it was fine. Buyer confirmed there was no damage in shipping. But buyer apparently used the item then claimed it was defective. Even though I noted the sale was NO RETURNS, I offered, and the user accepted, a rebate of 20% on the goods. Buyer claimed they didn't use product but the photo they supplied suggested otherwise. They also understood it was sold as is. I called eBay and they said I had no obligation to make it right but if I was willing, a token refund could help; hence the rebate of 20%. Buyer posted a bad review including "don't buy from this person." I've been on eBay for over 20 years and it is my first bad review. Do I click on "report the buyer" or perhaps there are other ways to improve my rating that dropped from 100% to 76% and will only climb with additional positive sales over time?
