Buyer claiming item wasn’t delivered
Summary: tietokonesystems is concerned about a buyer's claim that a laptop wasn't received, despite it being marked as delivered 15 days prior. They suspect the buyer might be attempting a scam, especially after being accused of sending it to a different address within the same zip code. krazzykats suggests that the buyer should file a case and advises providing the tracking number as evidence. There is a concern about the lack of a delivery signature, which might complicate matters.
Hello everyone, I have a buyer claiming they didn’t receive a laptop I sold them. They first said something 15 days after it was delivered, 15 days!! I don’t know if they were out of town or if they just don’t pick up their packages in a reasonable, safe, and timely manner but if I purchased a laptop for $2K you better know I’m going to be following the tracking and make sure that package isn’t sitting on a porch, outside, or any other place for a second more than it has to. Anyone that watches the news sees a report about porch pirates or mailmen getting guns pulled on them and get robbed of their keys every few days. I don’t know if they are just clueless or are trying to pull a scam because he started accusing me of mailing it to a different address within the same zip code, and I’m thinking what would be the point of that? So I ship it to a different address, that does nothing for me because as soon as the buyer makes a claim eBay essentially makes me refund them because of buyer guarantee. So it’s not like I get to keep the money. I don’t know if I should report the buyer or not because I don’t know if they’re just stupid and waited for over 2 weeks after delivery to actually get the package or if they are trying to pull a scam. I know how infuriating it is to have a issue free selling history in over 10 years and be accused of doing a scam when I didn’t. Especially a pointless scam where I gain nothing. So, I’m not about to be a hypocrite and accuse them without being sure. Has anyone had this happen to them? If so what did you do and how do you recommend dealing with it. I’ll be putting up a fight for as long as needed because regardless if they’re dumb or doing a scam, I’m not going to be out over $2K because of either one.

Mentor6 days agoYou do not need to communicate with the buyer.
If the buyer filed a Refund Request due to Item Not Received, just respond to the request with the tracking number and tracking information that proves delivery. If Ebay can verify delivery with the information you provide, they will find in your favor.

Mentor6 days ago · EditedThe buyer has to file a case, then you only need to post the tracking# that shows it was delivered. I'm assuming you did not get a signature for the delivery since they are claiming they didn't receive it.
