Buyer claim received damaged item post image of unsealed product Item was shipped sealed double box
Sold an expensive item and shipped via Priority Mail with Signature confirmation.
The buyer claimed that the received item was damaged and requested a return label.
The buyer posted an image of the same product(looks like a screenshot), but it was not sealed.
The item I shipped to a buyer is factory-sealed in original packaging.
As an eBay seller, what should I do?
Other than accepting the return & providing the return shipping label.

Mentor2 years agoTell buyer to check that a family member didn't open the box, otherwise you will have to report this as mail tampering to the postal inspectors and his local police department, and to please cooperate with the investigation.
The above often makes the problem go away, otherwise just before deadline accept the return and don't refund until the item is back. Then you can report the buyer and appeal the refund, but no guarantee you will get your money back.
If buyer can show a damaged box, especially with a carrier sticker indicating damage, you may want to file a claim with the carrier. However, in this case buyer has to have the box and item available for inspection and/or pickup by the carrier, and you have to refund with the unlikelihood of getting your item back or winning your claim.
Your last option is whether the item is repairable and you want to offer a partial refund to cover the repairs.
