Buyer changed address after I shipped package. Is this a scam?

Iâ€™ve already shipped an item. Buyer just sent different address. Is this a scam?

If it is a scam attempt, it is not a very good one. Scammers generally don't pay, and you can't change the address. But - make sure the message is from the same ID as the buyer, since a scammer will try to get you to send them someone else's purchase.

If you have actually sent the item already, message the buyer and explain that you have already shipped, and there is nothing you can do to change the address; and if the package gets returned to you, you will refund them for the item.

If you still have the package in your possession, void the label and cancel the transaction as problem with buyer's address. Message the buyer and explain that you can not change the address, so you sent them a refund and will relist the item so they can buy it again with the correct address.

To void the label -

Go to Manage shipping labels - opens in new window or tab.
Find the item you'd like to void the shipping label for, then from the Actions column, select Void Label.
Choose your reason for voiding the label.
Select Send request.
