Buyer Cancellation Request after winning item in bid

Question

I sold a leather jacket with zipper missing on pocket. After the seller won the item and before it actually was sent out, he wanted to cancel the order because he just noticed the zipper was missing. Am I required to cancel this purchase? It is shown very clearly that it is missing. Thanks

I had two like cast iron Breakfast skillets on auction. One Buyer won both, one for $ 77 and the other for $ 90 ... the winning Buyer outbid the same Buyer on both auctions ... as soon as the auctions ended the winning Buyer messaged requesting a cancellation on the (you guessed it) $ 90 skillet.

Did I like that? Of course not

Did I cancel as requested? Of course I did

I sent a Second chance offer to the next highest bidder on the $ 90 item for their high bid of $ 89 ... they may or may not want it now since they lost both auctions, out of my control but it could mean I have to wait to sell it and I may not get $ 90 for it ... am I happy about that? No, but that's the way it goes sometimes.

You are not required to cancel the order.

However, you could end up with more problems if you don't cancel it now.

The buyer doesn't want the item. Why would you force it on them? If they decide it is "Not as described" once they receive it, they can request a return and you will have to pay for the return shipping.

It's not a battle you are likely to win.

Pick your battles. Cancelling the order is the easy way out.
