Buyer buys gift card
This buyer buys 3 10 dollar gift cards. They have a problem with the saying their not active send them new cards with proof of activation. Then they start threating to call the fbi if I don't send them more money. I keep telling them it's against ebay rules to send someone more then what they bought. Then start saying I'm going to contact eBay get your details and have you throw in jail. What to do because all ebay says is refund the item.

Mentor1 year agoYou seem to be an honest seller with 100% positive feedback and over 60 items listed. Your descriptions are very accurate—I’ve looked at a few of your listings, and it’s clear you provide detailed and reliable information.
This situation is definitely concerning, especially with the buyer's threats and demands. Here's what you can do to handle this in line with eBay's policies:
Do Not Send Additional Items or Money: eBay strictly prohibits sending anything beyond what was originally purchased. Stick to the terms of the original transaction to protect yourself.
Report the Buyer: The threats and harassment you described violate eBay’s Threats and Offensive Language Policy. Use eBay’s system to report the buyer so they can investigate.
Refund if Necessary: If eBay has advised you to refund the buyer, it’s best to follow through. This can de-escalate the situation and protect your account.
Block the Buyer: Prevent future interactions by adding the buyer to your blocked list. You can do that here: Block a Buyer.
Contact eBay Support: Reach out to eBay support via chat or request a callback. They can review your personal messages with the buyer while you’re on the line. eBay won’t leave this kind of behavior unattended. In fact, they may even prevent the buyer from leaving negative feedback or opening a case against you. Start here: eBay Help.
Document Everything: Keep all communications professional and within eBay’s messaging system. This ensures there’s a clear record if eBay needs to intervene or remove retaliatory feedback.
From my experience, eBay takes such threats seriously. I’ve had similar issues in the past and always started with a chat or callback request. Support has been effective in addressing the issue quickly and taking appropriate actions against buyers behaving this way.
I hope this helps resolve the matter smoothly.
