Buyer bogus DOA claim
What repercussions do I possibly have on a sale where I think the buyer actually broke the machine or is changing out a my good tattoo machine for his broken one. The item worked flawlessly, practically brand new leaving my house. Packed up tight with cushion and now eBay says have to return, refund, then you can re-list. Re-list a broken machine? What can I do as the seller. I’m stuck.

Unfortunately, there is no protection against internet criminals who ply their trade from the comfort of their own homes and often in their pajamas sipping on their Starbuck's Mocha-Choca-Lie-A Lotte.
Below is a link to your Seller Protections ... depending on what happens with the return you will be able to withhold 50% of the item price, withhold the original shipping the Buyer paid and then you use the Report Buyer link on the sold item to alert eBay of an issue with the Buyer. So in basic terms, the protection Sellers have is to cut part of their loss. Buyers can contact eBay and kick and scream and eBay will refund them what you didn't out of their own pocket.

Mentor3 years agoAccept the return, provide a return shipping label if you want the item back, or you can refund without requiring return of the item. If you refuse to do either, ebay can refund the buyer from your funds and not require return of the item, and a defect will be recorded on your account for an unresolved transaction.
