Buyer Black Mailing for Refund
Buyer writes me a message for a book i sold him from 1848 but says he found the date 1888 in the book and wants $35 refunded (weird already to pick that price on a $125 book) but if he did find that date then yeah my original date is wrong and he deserves a refund but after asking for photo proof of the said 1888 date he says he can’t provide it and if I make him “go flip through pages to take a photo then it’ll be $50 for me to refund him†than says it “may take a day to get the photos to me through the ebay messaging?†That sounds like he’s gonna photoshop a picture to get a refund, why would it take a day and why wouldn’t he be able to provide proof right away? It’s pretty simple to send a photo of a page that even he said was in the forward of the book so he knows exactly where the date should be and to then say I should refund him more if he has to flip through pages. Just seems odd that he couldn’t provide proof right away, even though i sent multiple links about the same exact book from credible sources that shows the book he got is 100% correct. Feel like im getting forced into sending money or face a bad review or worst when i’m not the one doing anything wrong in this situation.

Mentor2 years ago@plotb719. Sounds like the buyer is "fishing " I would just say "return for refund " and leave it at that. Fishers usually give up because they really want the item.
