BUYER BEWARE
I ordered 5 Items from E-Bay on June 16, 2023 for $85.65, charged to my credit card. THE SELLER shipped the items to the wrong address! BUT! Told E-Bay the items were delivered. It took me three weeks to convince E-Bay and the SELLER I DID NOT RECEIVE MY ITEMS, But The Money was Debited from my account. NOW! A month later E-Bay has finally decided to close the case in my "FAVOR" Refund in 7-10 business days?? That makes E-Bay has held and used my Money for over a month. I have to pay 23% Interest on that credit card. SO! E-Bay you owe me an additional 23% interest on the money you have held in my refund.. By Order of the Federal Government.

That's highway robbery. Well, I guess it isn't since you agreed to it. Do not carry over a balance, pay off the entire amount every month and you won't be charged interest. That's what I do. I use my credit card quite a lot, for the convenience, but when that statement comes, I pay it off in full. I don't even know what interest rate they charge for a balance.

OP3 years agoThe Credit Care Issue isn't The "POINT" These Online Companies Take your Order, Take your Money. Then give you the lame excuse it was delivered? When it Wasn't Even shipped out! E-Bay and Amazon both buy their goods from China, Taiwan, S. Korea, etc. When the containers are backed up in shipment, the Seller Says: " It Was Delivered" Then they create a Shipping label to some "DOCK" in your City, to say, UPS delivered it. Then you have to go through the process of "Trying To Get a refund" Refund in 7-10 Business Days. It's already been 20 days since they took my money. In the meantime, They Are using Your Money, investing It and buying more TIME with the Overseas Sellers. SO! Why Can't we get interest on our money that they USED? The FTC says we CAN!

I don't know about Amazon, but you are way wrong about eBay. eBay doesn't buy goods from anybody at all. eBay is a venue for individual sellers to list their products for sale. You have never bought anything from eBay, nobody else has either. Even when Pierre Omidyar created eBay and listed that broken laser pointer, it wasn't eBay that sold it, it was Mr Omidyar acting as a private citizen.

That isn't true. eBay is NOT using our money. It is sitting on hold.

eBay doesn't buy or sell ANYTHING. eBay is merely a website that allows sellers to list products for sale. I personally don't buy anything from China.
I'm not sure how to help you ... because you seem more concerned about getting interest on your money than being refunded for what you didn't receive.
Have you phoned the shipping company to get verification that the seller used a fake name and address when they shipped your item? They will send you a statement to that effect (if true), which may help you get refunded sooner.

Mentor3 years agoeBay does not use your money while it is held. You only have to pay interest on your credit card balance if you don't pay it in full - that's your decision and has nothing to do with eBay.
