Buyer asking for "new link"
Hi, I have a buyer who seems suspicious, but maybe I just don't know about selling to Chinese buyers. First, they asked if I would stop the auction and sell the item to them for 80 yuan ($11-something US) when the bidding was up over $25 at that point. Then, they won the auction for $32 US and immediately messaged me: "Could you please make a new link? I need to find a purchasing agent to buy it for me first."
So is this a scam? What's a "new link" and how would I make one?

Just say no and tell them they can pay through the Ebay checkout.
When they don't pay, cancel the transaction after 4 days have passed specifying "buyer didn't pay".

Place the non-paying buyer on your Blocked Buyer List:

Set your buyer requirements to block buyers who caused cancellations of 2 unpaid purchases within 12 month(s).

OP2 years agoThank you! Taking those steps now rather than waiting 4 days because the buyer is sending me a bunch of messages now demanding that I make "a link" so they can pay 32 yuan... when the winning bid was 32 US Dollars. Clearly they are scamming people who don't know about the exchange rate.
