Buyer asked for refund, but has not mailed item back yet.
Hello,
I have a buyer that has asked for refund. That is not a problem, but the buyer has has not mailed item back. I still have a week for them to mail back by the deadline. It has been close to 5-6 days already and no information at all that they have returned(shipping label). I have 2 returns in selling on eBay and those went very smooth, buyer returned same/next day. Items returned , then $$$ returned, both parties happy.
But, this is first time I have got close to the eBay deadline for the buyer to send item back. I do not want to refund $$$ before item returns, because I fear they will might just keep item. Because only response I received was after I sent a message saying "Sorry about the mix up. Please return item and I will issue a full refund" to which they replied only "Lmao"
Do I contact ebay sooner about the return situation or just wait it out?
I understand have to give people full time allowed so I am guessing the answer will be " wait until deadline"
but, I want to understand more the "protections" from a seller stand point.

Mentor5 months agoIf the tracking for the return package never shows any information, perhaps the buyer changed his/her mind. If the package is never returned, you can go to the case and close it (or perhaps Ask ebay to step in, to close the case).

Mentor5 months ago@ziet23. Did you approve the return and issue the return shipping label?
If yes to both then the buyer must return the item. eBay won't force a refund if you did BOTH of these steps.

Yes, the refund has been Approved. Ok, thank you.. maybe they are just really late on returning item an I can be more patience.

Mentor5 months ago@ziet23. I just wanted to clarify that an agent cannot close the case early. If the buyer never returns the item when a seller issues a return label the case times out at 35 days and you win the case. The buyer can't open a new eBay return case.
