I bought a vacuum cleaner that was supposed to work, but it arrived and it didn't work. Why do I have to pay for shipping both ways if the seller sold me a device that didn't work?

What was the reason you used when you opened the return? Your choice determines the type of return you open. Damaged, Missing Parts, Does not match description, wrong item are item not as described reasons and the seller is required to pay return shipping.
If you chose any other option you opened a remorse return and you have to pay return shipping.
