Business account with Mega Store – why is my selling limit only 200 items?
Summary: ikpaeu shared that they converted their eBay account to a business one and purchased a Mega Store subscription expecting unlimited listings. However, they found their account limited to 200 items per month. jacbarcollectibles explained that eBay sets initial low selling limits for accounts with no feedback, which are independent of store subscriptions. mr_lincoln further clarified that new sellers need to establish a successful sales history to increase limits. ikpaeu expressed frustration over how to build this history with such a low limit while disneyshopper advised checking regional eBay sites due to a potential navigation glitch.
Hi,
I recently changed my eBay account from private to business.
After listing two items, I was charged about €0.88 per listing, so I purchased the Mega Store subscription (669 PLN/month) because I need to list around 5,000 products.
My Mega subscription says unlimited Buy It Now listings, but eBay is now blocking my listings because my account has a limit of only 200 items / $7,000 per month.
Is this a technical issue after converting my account to business, or is 200 items really my current business selling limit?
If the limit is 200 items, I don't understand how I am supposed to use a Mega Store subscription with unlimited listings.
Do I need to contact eBay to have this limit increased?
Thanks for your help.

Mentor1 week agoThis is ebay.com, the USA site.
You are located in Poland.
You need to return to your home site: https://www.ebay.pl
There is currently a glitch when you search, bringing you over here.
In the future, use the SHOP BY CATEGORY on the left side of the screen, or type in your KEYWORDS and then use the SEARCH on the right side.

Mentor1 week agoeBay sellers have personal listings that will be followed no matter if you have a store or not. Since you have no seller feedback and have not received any feedback in the last year your listing limits will be very low. Opening a store subscription does not change your personal listing limits so the subscription is not always beneficial to you.
It will take months of successful selling to get your personal limits raised to that level so you should probably cancel the subscription until eBay allows you to list at least that amount of items.

OP1 week agoThank you for clarifying 👍. But can you let me in on the secret: how am I supposed to build a successful sales history with a limit of only 200 listings? With so few products, my listings will simply get lost among millions of others on eBay.

Mentor1 week agoHi @ikpaeu
-First, just opening a store does not increase Selling limits. While the requirements may vary between the UK domain and US the concept is the same.
-As to changing from Private to Business the threshold for Private accounts is $3K (the last I knew). Were you selling $ 3k before making the change??? That could affect you too I am sure.

OP1 week agohi mr_lincoln
No, I wasn't selling before switching to a Business account. I changed it to Business specifically because I have a registered company and wanted to start selling professionally on eBay. I have around 5,000 products ready to list, which is why I also purchased the Store subscription

Here in the US new Sellers have to establish a track record of completing transactions, receiving Buyer Feedback, etc. before eBay will consider raising their Selling limits. I am sure some things are similar between the UK and US in that regard. Really sorry that the venue will be limiting your sales efforts for some time, hopefully you can sell a good number of the 200 per month you are limited to.
