Bundle shipping ?
Summary: azureeeblu is considering purchasing multiple items from a seller on eBay and having them shipped together. The seller proposed refunding the shipping cost for all but one item after purchase, as eBay's bundling option is not available. mr_lincoln explained that while combined shipping is possible, it requires trust in the seller since eBay won't guarantee a refund stated only in messages. They recommended requesting a single listing for all items, but noted this might be labor-intensive for the seller.
Hi. I'm discussing with a seller purchasing multiple of their items and having them shipped as a bundle. The "request shipping as bundle" option says that the seller does not allow bundles.
In our messages, the seller suggests to me that I buy the items as is, and they will "refund" the shipping for all but one item, and ship them together.
Is this within ebay's policies? What would happen if I made the purchase, if they didnt follow through, would I be protected?

-The "Bundling" option for Sellers: if the Bundle feature is turned ON at the Seller's end they can select items to be considered for bundle pricing but that is for the item price not the shipping price although they can also have Combined shipping settings for automatic price adjustment.
-Combined shipping is really what you want to be discussing with the Seller and yes, Sellers can take several fully priced items, Combine them into one package and then refund the shipping overage. I do that on a regular basis and it is easy to do.
-You will NOT be protected by eBay if the Seller does not follow through with their promise to refund you the shipping overage. Nothing stated in eBay messages is binding as far as eBay is concerned.
-Not sure how many items you are talking about but Sellers also have a setting to block bidding or buying from one customer over a certain number in a certain amount of days. If memory serves the Default settings are 10 items in the last 10 days. Some Sellers don't even know that setting exists.
-You could ask them to create one listing for all the items you want with the shipping adjusted for that BUT it represents a lot of work. I had one Buyer ask me to do that early on and then they never purchased ... never did that again.
