broken in shipment
I have my first broken shipment. Its a glass bird that I wrapped very carefully and packed in a sturdy box. The buyer has sent pictures and I actually doubt this is my bird. Additionally, I shipped USPS ground advantage, which provides insurance under $100, so it should be covered. Do I actually need to pay shipping and have it returned to me?

Mentor1 year agoIf you have the buyer return the item to you, it will void the insurance claim.
Have the buyer send you photos of the damaged item, the outer box, the shipping label, any packing materials and tell the buyer to keep that aside in case the carrier wants to inspect it all. Refund the buyer in full. Go to the sold transaction, click the Order Details, and save that to a PDF. Then go online to the carrier's web site and file an insurance claim, uploading all of the photos and the PDF showing how much you received for selling that item. If the carrier accepts your claim, they will send you a check.
