Broken during mailing
A customer bought 6 shot glasses. One was cracked. It was not cracked when I packaged and mailed it. She sent me pictures of the cracked glass and the packaging. Should I file claim with post office ? She wants to keep the other items but wants compensation for the one that is broken. I’m losing money because I already discounted it when she bought it can someone please give advice to help me?

Mentor3 years agoYou owe the buyer a refund for the broken item. If you can file a claim, you should, but your buyer does not wait for the claim - it reimburses you, if paid.
Ask the buyer for photos of the box as well as the item. File your claim at usps.com. Ask the buyer to hold the box and the broken item - they may have to take it to their PO for inspection.
If sent after 7/9, either priority or ground, there is up to $100 coverage. If sent before 7/9, priority had insurance, first class or parcel did not, unless you added it.
