Bought plastic welder last year 31/08/22 and doesn't work. Want to return but Ebay will not allow me
My partner bought a Welder that welds plastic and other materials last year 31/08/22.
Four weeks ago he needed to use it (first time out of the box) first time to weld.
Turned on the power and pressed the button that starts the heating process, nothing happened.
He thought that the power point maybe faulty and decided to use another power point and then another
power point. This simply does not heat up.
Have sent countless emails to the seller explaining that the plastic welder is faulty and would like to return for a working one. The seller keeps repeating the same emails, you need to check power switch, turn on heating button. Seller also mentioned that they have relayed the problem to their department but nothing comes from it. It makes me wonder if the seller is from another country due to the lack of understanding/English.
We can't return this welder to the seller due to the Ebay window closing period of 30 days which would of being September 2022.
Surely we are entitled to either a refund or replacement under the New South Wales consumer laws.
Generally speaking shouldn't we have a 12 month warranty because it's electrical?
Thanks

·3 years agoDon't know how it is in Australia, but in the U*S, we have 30 days top open a case with Ebay and 180 days for Pay Pal and most credit cards.
If you want a warranty, you need to buy from a seller that is authorized to sell for the manufacture.
Since you're from Australia, log off the US site and return to your home site and ask there.
