bought an item that is already sold
Last night I bought an ipad. Within minutes of my credit card being accepted, the seller messaged me and asked me to request a refund because the item is already sold. My first question is how does that happen?
I can find no way to request a refund on the ebay site, without the also need to return an item. Further everything thing I find online says it's too early to request a refund, but the seller asked me to do so within five minutes of the purchase, but unfortunately provided absolutely no assistance on how to do that. I have no item to return so the ebay instructions don't apply in this case, and I'd like to begin shopping immediately for another ipad. No item is being shipped so there is no reason why a three day wait is necessary. Ad now the seller is not responding, which is extremely frustrating. This may not have any urgency for them, but I need to make an ipad purchase immediately as I need one for a trip that is happening in just over a week.
To further complicate matters I used two gifts cards to help offset the cost of the purchase, and need to know how will those gift cards get reloaded so that I can use them on the purchase I still need to make.
It's terribly frustrating that I can't get to a human being on ebay.
