Bought an item for more than I bid???
I bid $43 on an item and won the bid at $61. How did this happen when I did not increase my bid above $43?

I think @lady_madonna is probably right, sometimes I press the "." between dollars and cents but it doesn't take or I didn't press it hard enough.

Maybe you made a typographical error? Typed in $430 instead of $43 and you won for an increment above the 2nd highest bidder.
Have you looked at the bidding history page?

OP3 years agoI clicked the box that said $43, which was the next increment. I left the maximum bid box below blank. Does this mean I would buy it at any price? I did not type in any number, let alone an extra digit.

Mentor3 years ago@haroldped Does the total invoice price you received include shipping? If what you say is true then you only bid $ 43 not $ 61 so the other $ 18 is for something else ... Shipping? Handling? Etc?

OP3 years agoNo, I bought it at $43 (sites says $61) plus about $12 shipping, plus tax, about $78 total.
