Bought an item and the seller deleted account + listing. Been stuck at cancellation process.
I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to do since I can't seem to get a hold of the seller as they have deleted their account. And I'm certain at this point I'm not going to receive the item. I tried reaching the customer service but the phone call rang for half a second and hung up, and I wasn't able to get a hold of them either. Has this happened to anyone?

What is the estimated date of delivery according to the order details in your Purchase History?
IF/WHEN the latest estimated date of delivery has already passed by at least 1 day, you have up to 30 days past estimated date of delivery to file a Refund Request:
Go to your My Ebay page >> Purchase history
If the seller does not respond to the refund request, after 3 business days you can ask Ebay to step in to help you.

You are still protected by eBay's money back guarantee even if the seller has been removed. Here is what eBay says:
If you haven't paid for the item, you won't need to. The item should've been removed from your purchase history. We encourage you to look for a similar item from a different seller.
If you already paid for the item, please follow these steps:
If you receive your item, but want to return it, you can request a refund."

OP8 months agoThank you for that assurance. It's very odd. I attempted to cancel as mentioned and received notice just earlier that the cancellation request was denied. Strangely so since the seller no longer exists.

Mentor8 months agoYou are very welcome.
Cancelling requires the cooperation of the seller, so if the seller is no longer registered, the seller cannot cooperate. eBay has no way of knowing for certain if the seller shipped anything, so eBay would rather wait to see if you get what you ordered. My suspicion is that you will not get anything.
