bought a PlayStation 5 on eBay believed to be fraud
Summary: bitlit described their concerns about purchasing a PlayStation 5, suspecting the transaction might be fraudulent. They noticed irregularities such as copied images, conflicting model details, and a questionable seller profile. Despite reaching out shortly after the purchase to cancel, they have not received a response. They are uncertain whether they need to wait for the delivery attempt to initiate a dispute.
I bought a PlayStation 5 thinking I got a good deal but then I looked more into it and I believe the seller doesn't actually have the item.. Seller has only been active for a couple months 7 feedback One manual review the rest are automated positive reviews i reversed image searched the images the "seller" just copied another person's photos.. had on the listing and it's on Craigslist for 200 the listing also has images of 2 different models of the PlayStation 5 he's from a location that is known for fraud. do I have to wait until it's marked delivered until I can dispute I contacted the seller about canceling the item after I bought it like 30 minutes after.. no answer

You will likely have to wait to see what if anything is delivered, what your tracking indicates, or whether the seller is removed from eBay. Bookmark the seller's feedback page in case the seller is removed from eBay.
If there is no tracking showing delivery by the last estimated delivery date, you can file an "item not received" case the next day. If something arrives other than what you ordered, file a "not as described" return.
If tracking shows delivery but nothing arrives, contact the shipping service to determine if your name and address is associated with that tracking. If not, you may be looking at a case of "false tracking". Follow up here for further instructions in that case, or if the seller is removed from eBay before you file a case.
