Bookkeeping Spreadsheet for January 2024 doesnt match financial summary for January 2024
So i decided to create my own bookkeeping Spreadsheet for the month of January and after finishing it I noticed that my gross total Sales along with total shipping, fees etc. isn't matching up with the financial summary that you can download at Payments>Reports for that same month, this is the first time I've ever made a spreadsheet so I don't Know if its common or not and Ive been struggling to figure out why

You should be able to create a spreadsheet that matches. eBay’s math always works. I keep my own spreadsheet every year.
Did you sell anything at the end of Dec that wasn’t paid for until Jan? This might cause a difference, but since I don’t know where you are pulling your info for your spreadsheet, it is hard to say for sure.
I would run a transaction report, also under payments >> reports so you can compare the details with your spreadsheet.

OP2 years agothere wasn't any orders that were paid after Dec, I pulled My info from the orders tab > paid and shipped section and just went one by one from my very first order in January to the very last one of the month maybe pulling my numbers from there didn't give me the most accurate information I could've used but i was the only place I could think of that would give me a detailed breakdown of each order for that month, do you think that was a good idea or should i start over again and pull my numbers from Payments >> Reports?

Did you take the order totals shown on that page, or did you open each order detail page to get item and shipping? The order total includes the sales tax, which you need to exclude.
If you select download csv instead of pdf on the financial summary, it will give you the details in a spreadsheet so you can compare to the data you pulled from the paid and shipped page. It should be the same as the transaction report that I mentioned, but you’ll know for sure that it agrees with the summary report.

·2 years agoAlso remember to look at the other end of the year for sales in the prior year (2022) that were paid in the following taxable year (2023), as those will be reported by eBay in 2023.
