Bogus return /refund requested.
I recently sold an item that was clearly listed as a 100 sq in headed tennis racquet. The buyer gets the racquet and says that what he received was not what was listed. He thought he was buying a 97 sq in head racquet(no idea why bc the listing is for a 100 sq in). I told him this isn’t my fault that you can’t read… the pictures I posted on listing show 100 sq in head, the listing states it’s a 100 sq in head yet he was expecting a 97 sq in. How do I proceed? There is no option to “decline refund request†only accept it which I am not going to do. How do I notify eBay that he incorrectly accused me of selling him an item that Is different from what I listed?

I’m afraid that you will be giving the buyer a free racket if you try to fight the return. eBay will refund the buyer’s money and let them keep the item if you don’t provide a prepaid shipping label to get the racket back.
eBay is aware that buyers don’t always read the listing carefully or scrutinize the photos … yet still want sellers to allow returns as long as the buyer files a return request saying that the item is ‘not as described’.
I’m really sorry this is happening. Please don’t hurt yourself more by thinking you can avoid having to accept the return. Contacting eBay may cause them to refund the buyer quicker.

ebay has something called ebay money back guarantee. all sellers are subject to it.
Basically if a buyer opens a claim for "not as described" the seller has to accept the return, pay for return shipping and when they get the item back, refund in full.
If you don't follow those steps, the buyer can ask eBay to step in a refund them and potentially you will not get the item back.
If you try to fight it or ask eBay to step in, you will lose.
Just accept the return, refund when you get it back and chalk it up as a cost of doing business.

Mentor1 year agoUnfortunately if the buyer opened an "Item not as described" cases you are expected to accept the return or to refund the buyer in full. You cannot deny an INAD case. Since eBay never sees the item either when you list it or it is delivered they allow the buyer to determine if the item is as described or not.
Once you get the item back you can appeal the refund to eBay but you must make the refund first.
