I was a little taken aback when I received a tracking # that didn't track. I read that folks may be selling a Amazon item from ebay and getting it drop shipped from Amazon to buyer. Also, that items are marked up from Amazon price. I cannot confirm the truth of any of this but I also received several Ebay emails from the vendor that were overly attentive and poorly written. I can live with much of this, folks trying to make a living from all over the world. What bothers me is wondering if I paid more than necessary. I have noted that some items I search are listed dozens of times from different ? vendors with different prices. I didn't know what to make of it but perhaps this false Ebay listing really Amazon with a markup is part of it.
If abnyone can shed light on the truth of any of this, I would appreciate it. My item arrived in good shape, it took longer but no complaints. It feels a bit like a shell game. J

It is true that some sellers (or their US-based warehouses) have engaged the services of tracking number consolidators (like Blue Care and Aquiline) that hide the underlying shipping carriers and underlying tracking numbers. eBay has taken note, and those wrapper services' days are numbered. When that relationship ends, eBay will no longer support their tracking numbers (to the detriment of sellers who use them).
Do not expend energy second guessing your decisions. If you were happy with the price you paid at the time, and if the item arrived as expected, then continue to be happy with it because nothing good can come from wondering. Perhaps the item from another source would not have appeared, and your savings would have been lost on tracking it down.
