Hello everyone,
I am attempting to list loose gemstones on eBay, but every time I try to publish my draft, I receive this red error banner:
"To maintain a safe trading environment, eBay places limits on the number of categories sellers can list in. You don't have the required permission to sell items in the Jewelry category. We aren't accepting requests to list in the Jewelry category at this time. (e296305-1246165x)"
Details about my issue:
I sell only loose gemstones (not finished jewelry pieces).
My intended category is
Jewelry & Watches > Loose Diamonds & Gemstones > Loose Gemstones.I have also tried listing under
Crafts > Beads & Jewelry Making > GemstonesandCollectibles > Rocks, Fossils & Minerals, but the restriction blocks my profile across all related categories.
Since my business inventory consists exclusively of loose gemstones, I cannot sell standard non-jewelry items to build feedback.
Has anyone encountered this specific error code before? How can a dedicated gemstone seller get verified or request account clearance with support? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

As a new seller there are restrictions on the numbers of items you can list at one time, and their value. You are also listing items in a high risk for scams category, and unfortunately many of the scams come from sellers in your country. The links below explain the restrictions.

eBay also places a 30 day hold on the first payments you receive. You will be expected to ship your item with tracking to prove you shipped within your stated handling time and that the buyer received it. If you post a shipping cost, the amount you charge is available from the held funds, so you can buy a shipping label through ebay which will automatically be upload a tracking number to your sold item, letting ebay and the buyer know the item is on its way.

You may want to start out selling lower priced items at first then when you prove to be a reliable seller you will be able to list more and higher value items.
