Blocked from contacting sellers
EBay has blocked me from contacting sellers. Whenever i try to get information from a seller, the site says "no illegal communication allowed." I have never tried to negotiate a deal outside of the standard EBay format and only want additional information on the item as a potential buyer. I cannot get thru to a live agent and all the automated remedies are worthless. This inability to communicate with a seller renders EBay almost worthless.

Mentor1 year agoeBay does not generally block messages, but may block certain content, including contact information, or things that appear to be contact information. A message to that effect appears at the top of the message entry field, but you should still be able to click on the "Send message" text in the lower right to enter and send your message text.

OP1 year agoYea, I've tried that - it will not even allow me to type in a message. I've given no personal contact information in the past nor violated any "policies". I find it impossible to contact a live agent - the automated service is worthless and goes in circles.

If you are having problems, try clicking on the "Send message" text to start typing your message.
