block buying from certain states
it's tedious looking at where each seller is located. is there anyway at all to just block all sellers located in New York? really don't want to have "trumped up" charges brought against me for accidentally breaking some lame law they pull out of their bottoms when ordering from there.

Of course you're just being sarcastic and trying to make a point here, but NY is not the only state where lawfare is occurring. And it would be very difficult to get a state interested enough in you over an eBay purchase to come after you for that. More likely, the things you post online are of more interest to those who are out to get you.
Instead of spending time attempting to avoid buying from states where it's practiced, why not get involved by volunteering or supporting candidates and those that are working to make it stop? In the meantime, I'm sure there are some very nice sellers in NY who don't like the same things you don't like who would very much appreciate your eBay business.

Mentor2 years agoKeep in mind that the location in the listing stating where the item you are viewing is shipping from is not necessarily where the seller is. Ebay requires sellers to put the location in the listing that is where the item ships from regardless of where the seller has their account set up location.

There is no way for a buyer to block sellers based on location.
You can see the item location on the listing page.

There isn't a way to block sellers from a state.
You can search items that are X number of miles from you, that might work if you are in California and are ok blocking NY all of New England, etc.
However, what sort of charges are you worried about. I buy from NY without any worry.
