OP2 years agoThank you, but that doesn't work. I did NOT turn this on, eBay did. The security page you are referring to gives the choice of 3 different 2 step sign ins. Play the insulting I'm human game, but ONLY after you "signed" in, receive a phone call to sign in again, but ONLY after you "signed" in, receive a text to sign in again, but ONLY after you "signed" in! I guess I could do a fingerprint, except my fingerprints are on file NOWHERE! And I want it that way. Did I commit a crime? I bet that is ONLY after you "signed" in, just like a picture I bet. Both are just another "sign" in after you have "signed" in!
I just want to put in my log on , and password, and be on. It seems to me eBay is punishing the wrong people. Instead of going after criminals, and BTW helping ALL of us with internet security making it easier to prosecute online crime, let's just punish the rest of the law abiding people that just want to use our site!

Unless you are signing in to ebay.co.uk, 2-factor authentication has never been required to sign in to eBay unless there was a specific problem with the account.
Do you have the eBay app? Perhaps you can sign in or else shut of 2-factor authentication using the app.
I just want to put in my log on , and password, and be on.
That is how it has always worked for me.
Unless there is something very odd about your network or the current way you are signing in -- using a VPN or a hotspot, or signing in from a location in another country, or using simultaneous sign-ins in disparate locations -- or if there is a specific security issue with your account, such as an indication that eBay believes your account may have been compromised, you should be able to simply sign in to eBay without needing 2-factor authentication.
