Black Head Rum (France)
Summary: The discussion is about "Black Head Rum (France)" but contains no substantive content. Both the initial post and responses include no information or opinions about the subject.
I had my listing of a vintage mini bottle (empty) of this rum from France removed as violating eBay policy (hurtful content). In my appeal, pointed out one other current listing, along with a screenshot pointing to another bottle that had sold in the last three years. They have chosen to deny my appeal and the item remains blocked. I have since found 12 other current listings of this Black Head Rum (adverts or posters). I can only guess that the issue was with my [foolishly?] pointing out that in retrospect, such product names/images could be considered racist. (None of these dozen current listings bring this up.) Should I try to relist it without mentioning "racist" and see how it goes, or is there a way to escalate the appeal? Here's one of the current listings, uncontested, to show what I'm talking about: https://www.ebay.com/itm/205587187511

Mentor4 months ago@pmbooks That listing was created on the eBay France site.
I understand that it is frustrating but once an item is removed do NOT try to relist it even if an agent says ok as they can not reset the bots. The listing would just be removed again and you could be suspended.
The sold items could even have had the sales canceled by eBay AFTER they sold, this happens sometimes with items that violate site policy.
The bots could have removed the listing for two reasons>>
#1 the alcohol policy. Sometimes items are removed even if the seller says EMPTY in the title.

#2 Or removed under the offensive materials policy>

You need to sell your bottles elsewhere

OP4 months agoThanks for your helpful reply. It makes sense that if a bot flagged the listing, then a bot will not understand legitimate appeals. This is the only bottle (out of a couple of hundred) that I've had an issue with, so I seem to be doing things right in terms of making sure it doesn't go against the alcohol policy. But goo idea not to relist this one—not worth the trouble. It does kinda of burn me up that the policy is not fairly applied, since those other 12 listings are doing fine and well.
