Bidding on auction
I recently bid on a wig, I won the bid And she did not have a reserve down there at the time after I won the bid and paid for the item. She said that she was going to refund my money to me because she forgot to put the reserve amount up. I don’t feel like this is my problem. I feel like I should still get the merchandise Just because she forgot to do it. That is not my fault. How do y’all feel

·2 years agoHave you actually gotten the refund, or has she just promised it and not sent it? If you don't get the full refund or a package from the seller by the time the estimated delivery date you were given when you paid has fully passed, go to your Purchase History for that item, click the link for more options and select that you haven't received the item, then follow instructions from there. If you haven't gotten the item as described or a full refund after 3 days (but before 21 days) from doing so go back and you should find a link to "Ask eBay to step in" to get your refund. If you have (or will have by then) gotten it:
The seller already got a "defect" when s/he cancelled the transaction (unless s/he lied to eBay to blame you, in which case we'd need details especially what eBay said the reason was in the cancellation notice). That is the primary tool eBay uses to weed out bad sellers, downgrading the selling status of those who get too many relative to their sales volume (as opposed to having to pay employees to actually investigate to see how likely it was that the seller had a legitimate reason to cancel vs. deliberate policy violations).
You may leave appropriate (calm, factual--since the seller said that x was the reason say "seller said 'x. . .'" quoting the message as best you can in within the character limits--so people don't think you are just jumping to conclusions) feedback to warn future buyers/bidders. Don't mention if you had to file a case to get the refund, do mention if she blamed you for the cancellation. If the usual links have vanished, go to anyone's Feedback Profile (doesn't matter who, click on the feedback score in parentheses behind the username) then scroll down to below the last comment on that page to find a "Leave feedback" link that doesn't vanish (it brings you to a list of items you can leave feedback for).
Theoretically you could sue the seller for breach of the contract of sale (for the difference between the auction price and what you ended up having to pay for a replacement), but that is almost never practical.

Mentor2 years agoI am sorry thing happened to you. The seller should not have done that, but there really is no way to force them into selling it to you. You should still be able to leave feedback for the seller.
You should have gotten an email from Ebay when the seller cancelled your order. In that Email it would have stated the seller's reason for the cancellation. What did they put? The proper reason would have been out of stock. I know that isn't accurate to what happened to you, but the reasons for a cancellation are very limited, so that is the one the seller should have chosen. If they selected that the buyer requested it, of course that was wrong of them.
You should report this seller for what they did regarding the sale price and refusing to sell it to you after you won the auction. Also if the abused the cancellation system, it is important to report them for that too. Here is a link.

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.
If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.
If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.
