Bidding on an item that is local
I was going to bid on an item that was listed locally and wanted to ask the seller if I could buy the item through ebay and then pick it up locally instead of paying to have it shipped to me. Is that allowed through ebay policy or do they still pick up a percentage of the shipping:

-If there are NO bids on the Auction AND there are more than 12 hours remaining in the current Auction cycle the Seller can Edit the listing and ADD Local pick-up as an option. You can message them and ask if they would add Local pick-up as an additional option.
-If there is one or more bids OR less than 12 hours remaining no changes can be made BUT, if YOU win the auction and the Seller agrees to change from shipping to Local pick up they can Send an invoice showing Local pick-up & NO shipping charges. eBay will automatically send you an invoice but ignore that one until the Seller sends one with the Local pick-up on it.

OP7 months agoThank you mr. lincoln for the reply. Unfortunately every time I try to message the seller, ebay won't allow me to complete the message so I could find out if I could pick up the item locally. I'm not trying to circumvent ebay and would complete the offer as per their policy, but local pick-up versus shipping was the question.
