Bidding
I set my high bid at 21.50. Item got to 13.50, stayed there 3 days until 5 minutes to close. A bidder jumps in with 21.00 in one bid! I win but have been pushed to my max in one bid. It's as if the seller knew my max and had someone push the bid up but just below mine.
Can the seller see my max!?!

No, Sellers cannot see your max bid. Check the bid history by clicking on the bid count on the item in your Purchase history. See if there were any Retractions. Someone "may" have kept bidding until they outbid you then Retracted their highest bid so the one right below yours was active and used up your Max bid. That's called Shill bidding and yes it can happen but on a $ 21.50 item I am doubtful it did.

Mentor3 years agoNo, the seller cannot see your max, nor can the other bidder. What you are describing is exactly how automatic bidding works. The bid is increased each time the other person bids, Up to your max. You don't say if you won or not. I always add change at the end of my bids, like 22¢ rather than an even amount just in case the other person has the same max.
