Now that I have to pick a payment method. Does that mean I can no longer win an auction and use PayPal pay in 4 ? Which I use for like everything I buy

·2 years agoSomewhat correct. Some payment options available at Checkout are not available for pre-authorization of automatic payment. I'm guessing the PayPal credit options are not available because PayPal doesn't want to go through approving credit and then it not be used immediately.
However, in connection with the experiment going on extending the pre-auth to auction bids eBay is testing delaying the automatic payment (by 1 hour last I heard) to give the buyer time to change the payment source and shipping address and options (and possibly to combine shipping though the short window makes that usually impossible, and they don't mention it as a reason). Try checking out and applying for it in that time window.
