Bidder retracted bid
WHERE do I find "why" the bidder retracted their bid and "who" they are? I know there's a place to find this info, but I must be blind. Thanks

OP2 years agoSo, the bidder said they entered the wrong amount....but they placed a BID, so how could they have entered the wrong amount?

·2 years ago"Entered wrong amount" is intended for the correction of typo's. They are supposed to enter the "correct" amount (the amount they intended to bid) immediately after the retraction goes through. But eBay doesn't bother to do any enforcement on the rule against lying to retract and hasn't for over a decade now. So people just lie without any consequence (other than that particular seller adding him/her to his/her Block Bidder/Buyer List if s/he knows what s/he is doing).
As the only bidder s/he bid $26.00 on an item with a $25.00 starting price. I suppose it's possible s/he hit the "6" instead of the "5" but that seems unlikely. And there was nothing stopping the bidder from rebidding at $25.00 if that's what s/he intended (sometimes subsequent bids make it impossible to bid the amount originally intended because the minimum bid amount after the typo is retracted is higher than the intended bid amount).

The "(0) bids" is right under the price of item.

You'll find their Username in the Bid History, which you can reach by clicking on the number of bids in the listing.
Fuhgeddaboud the stated 'reason' for the retraction. The real reason is 'I changed my mind'.

Go to the listing page, click on the number of bids in order to go to the bidding history page. Scroll down to where you see "Retractions & Cancellations". If you are the seller you should be able to see the reason for the retraction.

That is located on the bidding history page, not the listing page. If you are having difficulty finding it, provide the item # or the item title and we can look it up for you.

You can reach the bidding history page by clicking on the # of bids in parentheses ...such as (0).
